Welcome to Tastemaker. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Tastemaker mobile application ("App," "Service," or "we"). By creating an account or using Tastemaker, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.
Service Description
Tastemaker is a mobile application that helps you track preferences and compare products to make confident decisions. The App allows you to:
- Create comparisons for products you want to evaluate
- Add options within each comparison
- Rate and add notes to options over time
- View your rating history and rankings
User Accounts
Account Creation
To use Tastemaker, you must sign in with a Google account. By signing in, you agree to:
- Provide accurate account information
- Maintain the security of your account credentials
- Notify us if you believe your account has been compromised
Account Responsibility
You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from unauthorized use of your account.
User Responsibilities
When using Tastemaker, you agree to:
- Use the App only for lawful purposes
- Not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
- Not exploit bugs, vulnerabilities, or unintended functionality
- Not interfere with or disrupt the App's operation
- Not use automated systems or bots to access the App
- Not attempt to access other users' data
User Content
Your Data
All data you create in Tastemaker (comparisons, options, ratings, and notes) remains your property. We do not claim ownership of your content.
License to Provide Service
By using the App, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your data solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. This license ends when you delete your account.
Content Restrictions
You agree not to create content that:
- Violates any applicable laws
- Infringes on intellectual property rights of others
- Contains malicious code or harmful content
Intellectual Property
The Tastemaker App, including its design, code, graphics, and branding, is owned by the developer and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not:
- Copy, modify, or distribute the App
- Use our trademarks or branding without permission
- Create derivative works based on the App
Disclaimers
Service Provided "As Is"
Tastemaker is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding:
- The reliability or availability of the Service
- The accuracy of any information provided
- The App being error-free or uninterrupted
- The App meeting your specific requirements
No Professional Advice
The App is designed for personal preference tracking only. Any decisions you make based on information in the App are your sole responsibility.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- We are not liable for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill
- Our total liability for any claims related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (if any)
These limitations apply regardless of the legal theory (contract, tort, or otherwise) and even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Account Termination
By You
You may delete your account at any time:
- Open Tastemaker
- Go to Settings
- Tap Delete Account
- Confirm the deletion
Account deletion permanently removes all your data and cannot be undone.
By Us
We may suspend or terminate your account if you:
- Violate these Terms
- Engage in fraudulent or illegal activity
- Abuse the Service in a way that affects other users
We will provide notice when reasonably possible before termination, except in cases requiring immediate action.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make changes, we will:
- Update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document
- Notify you through the App for significant changes
Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you should stop using the App and delete your account.
General Provisions
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where the developer is located, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect.
Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.
